About the Head Steward
The Head Steward reports to the Catering Manager and is responsible for supervision, planning and co-ordination of the daily activities of the stewards; ensuring that the laundry is run in a proper and efficient manner; maintaining inventory of cleaning, bonded, equipment and spares stock; maintaining inventory of laundry soap stores; maintaining the running and accounting of the bonded store in a proper manner; assisting with storing provisions whenever required; assisting in the ships office with crew changes and light administrative duties as directed by the Catering Manager; notifying the Catering Manager of any condition in the accommodation which might affect the standard of service, sanitary standards or hygiene standards; and reporting of any misbehavior and damage to accommodation facilities and equipment to the Catering Manager.
Requirements
You MUST be a US Citizen or a permanent resident of the United States. Minimum 3 years experience as a Head Steward working on a ship with a large number of persons on board; able to work as a team member; must be able to speak, understand and read English; and computer literate;
